Background
Centroid, a company based in the Netherlands, known for wieowie people finder, kamerplanet and hotelvinder, is acquired by Kgb, a major US based company. Kgb acquired 100 percent of the shares of Centroid and paid in cash.
Kgb, the company known for information-numbers such as 118 in the United Kingdom and 218 in France, offers a wide range of information services by phone, SMS as well as online. Centroid is specialized in vertical search engines and developed several websites with their technology. They are best known for wieowie.nl, the search engine which finds personal data, like phone number, email address, home address, work and social profiles on LinkedIn, Twitter and Hyves. Besides wieowie.nl the company has developed several other vertical search engines.
Whoozy, the international variant of wieowie.nl was about to break through internationally. Kgb has much more financial capacity with their 9.000 employees to realize an international roll out.
