Mergers AllianceThe food & drink industry worldwide is developing at an increasingly rapid pace and whilst there are many unique drivers in individual economies there are clearly some global themes which continue to stimulate M&A activity.

The growth of the discounter model, portfolio realignment and deleveraging amongst the F&D majors and the continued globalisation of brands are some key themes influencing the many business strategies. The future of family-ownership in the sector in many countries is a major issue as is the global consolidation role played by ‘national champions’ whether they be involved in meat processing or dairy products.

The Mergers Alliance food & drink team is highly experienced in advising both multinational companies and privately owned businesses across a range of issues, particularly in developing international M&A strategies and executing cross border transactions. Many of the Mergers Alliance professionals have backgrounds within the industry.
