Having gone from strength to strength, through a tough global economy, BroadSpan Capital, the Mergers Alliance partner firm that covers Central America, South America and the Caribbean, have been through a period of significant expansion across Brazil.

With its headquarters in Miami, BroadSpan has always had a strong focus on Brazil, through its office in Rio de Janeiro. Headed by Leonardo Antunes (Managing Director) and supported by a strong team of deal makers and analysts, the Rio de Janeiro office has completed over $1.3bn worth of transactions over the past 3 years.

Responding to the massive growth, geographic size and regional cultural differences in the Brazilian market, BroadSpan has endeavoured to expand its coverage of Brazil through its Board of Advisors, consisting of ex-CEO’s, Chairmen and senior level executives from industry. In addition to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, these individuals provide BroadSpan with a presence across the country, from Fortaleza in the Northeast to Porto Alegre and Joinville in the South, Goiania in the Center-West and Belo Horizonte in Southeast, giving BroadSpan excellent geographic coverage of the country as well as top level access to middle and large corporates across the country.

With deep seated knowledge of their local regions and their sectors, these advisory board members have brought significant value to BroadSpan and its clients, as well as to the rest of BroadSpan’s Mergers Alliance partners around the globe.

Leonardo Antunes, Managing Director at BroadSpan commented:

“We have been developing this structure since 2009, and now we reach more than 80% of Brazil’s GDP, with a local presence in the most important regions, through our offices in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Joinville, Goiania and Fortaleza. Brazil is a big country and it is quite important to have a local presence to really access this huge market.”
