Moritz von Laffert has 26 years of experience in the media business, 20 of which in CEO and VC positions.
Furthermore, Moritz has led several M+A transactions, including acquisitions, investments and divestments. He has many years experience as board member in e-commerce companies in Germany, France and the UK and has been a Senior Advisor to a corporate Venture Fund.
At Proventis Partners, Moritz primarily specializes in transactions for clients in the media and consumer goods industries. Here he benefits from his many years of operational experience in top management and in the implementation of strategic M&A projects.
As Managing Director, Moritz headed one of the major publishing divisions at Axel Springer SE, and for the last 10 years he was President of Condé Nast Germany. On an international level, as Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of Condé Nast International, he also played a central role in the global strategic direction of the family-run US group.
As Director Acquisitions and Investments he was furthermore responsible for the M&A activities of Condé Nast International and was Senior Advisor for Investments at the New York holding company Advance Publications. In these roles he led various investments, including those into the e-commerce start-ups Farfetch and Vestiaire Collective, where he also served as non-executive director on the boards. In his private life, Moritz is an early-stage investor in start-up companies.
Moritz learned the media business from scratch as a publisher at Axel Springer. He holds a Bachelor's degree in economics and a Master's degree with distinction from the London School of Economics.
In his private life, Moritz runs his family owned forestry business.
