Operating wind energy plants with a total installed capacity of 125Mw.

Deal Summary

NORGESTION has completed the sale of the 40% stake in DECAVENT owned by CATALUNYA CAIXA CAPITAL, the private equity subsidiary of CATALUNYA CAIXA, the Spanish bank now part of BBVA, to EDP RENOVAVEIS, the renewable energy subsidiary of EDP.
DECAVENT owns three wind energy plants located in Tarragona (Spain) with a total installed capacity of 125Mw.
NORGESTION acted as exclusive sell side advisor for CATALUNYA CAIXA CAPITAL.

Value Added

Taking advantage of the current strong interest for operating renewable energy assets in Spain, once the Electric Sector Reform was announced by the Spanish Government in 2013 and the new remuneration regime for the renewable energy industry was established in 2014, NORGESTION organized and managed a wide auction process targeting around 50 potential buyers, both industrial and financial.
Closely working with CATALUNYA CAIXA CAPITAL, we long listed the potential candidates, defined the necessary content for the Offers, coordinated the vendors Due Diligence process, put the shortlisted candidates into competition and helped in the preparation of the legal documents to complete the transaction. All to finally succeed in making our client achieving its divestment goals, both in terms of price, deadline and transparency requirements.
