Gurit Hungary is a leading tier 1 automotive supplier to OEMs with carbon fiber-based Class A composite components. With a long history of automotive composites production, Gurit Hungary has developed a strong position in the European market segment. The company offers full OEM support from conceptual part design and prototyping, composite material development and production to Class A part manufacture. Parts are produced using a high and increasing degree of automation and using state-of-the-art materials.
Carbopress, a specialist Italian company active in automotive carbon composite components expressed interest in acquiring the business which lead ultimately to the sale. Initially, Gurit planned to shut down its automotive business.
The signing and closing of the transaction occurred concurrently. The parties have agreed silence over the selling price. Gurit Hungary employs 144 staff members. The transaction is P&L and cash neutral to Gurit.
