The Spanish based Lau Lagun Bearings designs, manufactures and markets large bearings and slewing rings for various applications. It mainly works for the wind generation sector, but its components are also used in lifting machinery (cranes), water treatment and civil works, among others. It exports about 80% of its production and is present in the most competitive and demanding markets of Europe, America and Asia.

NORGESTION advised Lau Bearings on its sale of a majority stake to Portobello Capital, a Spanish middle market Private Equity.
Lau Lagun Bearings was looking for a financial investor in order to increase its international development and encourage diversification of markets and products. The business was already consolidated thanks to the excellent job done in recent years, both by the four shareholders, and by the CEO.
On the other side Portobello wanted to invest in an industrial company with great growth and international expansion and Lau Lagun fulfilled all their expectations.
