Amongst the main transactions in which Marcos participated are Telefónica del Peru's US$ 1 billion IPO in the NYSE, Alicorp’s purchase of La Fabril and Nicolini, Credicorp’s creation and listing on the NYSE, the advisory to Repsol in the purchase of Refinería La Pampilla, the advisory to PSEG in the purchase of ElectroAndes, the advisory to Nestlé in the purchase of D’onofrio, the advisory to Cementos Argos in the purchase of RMCC in the United States for US$ 435 million; the merger between Nacional de Chocolates and Noel Alimenticias for US$ 1.8 billion, the advisory to Grupo Uno in its sale to Citibank for US$ 1.4 billion, the issuing of a US$ 400 million bond for Bancolombia on the international market.

Most recently he advised Andino Investment Holding on the placement of a US$85MM note to Goldman Sachs, on the adquisition of a 49% stake in Neptunia, on the placement of a US$115MM 144A bond with Bank of America, and the US$330MM sale of its 4 main subsidiaries to DP World.

Also, he advised STRACON on its US$225MM merger with Grana y Montero, on its adquisitions of Red Eagle (Colombia) and Dumas (Canada) and on its management buyout and capital infusion from Ashmore

Career

Before establishing EFIC Partners, Marcos was the CEO for Peru and Colombia of Celfin Capital (2008-2009), where he started Celfin’s Peruvian office. Previously, he worked in the investment banking division of JP Morgan Chase for over 14 years, based mainly in New York. During this time he opened and was head of the Peruvian office, and later opened and was head of Colombia, Venezuela, Central America and the Caribbean operations.

He holds an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BSc in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru).
