Maarten covers consumer oriented sectors, such tourism, food & drink and pharma, as well as some industrial sectors related to the food industry.

In addition he has knowledge of certain segments of the IT market, renewable energy and waste treatment.

Career

B.A. in Law and International Law from the University of Amsterdam (1985). MBA from ESADE (1987).

In 1988, he joined the Corporate Finance Division of Banco Sabadell, where he was appointed Director of Mergers and Acquisitions in 1995.

Background

In 1985, Maarten moved from Amsterdam to Barcelona. After obtaining an MBA grade, he started working at Banc Sabadell, in various positions related with M&A, acquisition finance and project finance.

In 2001, he joined Norgestion as Managing Partner of the Barcelona office.

During the year 2010, he was the Chairman of Mergers Alliance.
