Mergers Alliance partner in Italy, Ethica Group, with its M&A Advisory team, assisted Vicenza Mode, an Italian leader in the manufacturing of high-end knitwear, in the sale of a majority stake to Sienna PE, a pan-European private equity fund focused on the mid-market segment.
This transaction is part of a much broader buy-and-build project by Sienna PE, dedicated to the creation of a new and significant manufacturing platform that aims to create a point of reference in “Made in Italy” for the production of high-end clothing. This platform, Ateliers Veneti, currently includes three of the main textile manufacturing companies in the Veneto region with decades of experience, craftsmanship and innovation (Prima S.r.l., One Company S.r.l. and Vicenza Mode S.r.l.).
Vicenza Mode, founded in 1983, is one of the main Italian manufacturers of knitwear, hybrid garments and accessories for the most important Italian and international luxury brands with which has managed to establish solid and long-lasting collaborations. Vicenza Mode works many varieties of yarns (such as cashmere, merino wool, cotton, viscose, polyester, nylon, silk) in different styles, producing a wide range of very high-quality knitwear. Vicenza Mode boasts 100% “Made in Italy” production and rigorous quality control and assists luxury fashion houses in all stages of production, from the sketch to the creation of the finished garment. It stands out in the market for its capability of creating tailor-made solutions based on the specific needs of the fashion houses’ creative directors.
The new platform, Ateliers Veneti, will retain the leadership and expertise of the three founding entrepreneurs. Marco Murarotto, founder and CEO of Prima, will serve as CEO of Ateliers Veneti and both he and the other two entrepreneurs – Marco Dalla Rovere, founder and CEO of One Company, and Riccardo Garbossa, CEO of Vicenza Mode – will oversee their respective companies, collaborating at group level to pursue a shared strategy.
