InterCapital with Šerif Group in the carve-out and sale of Šerif Energetika to Ancala.

InterCapital – Investment Banking team, served as the exclusive sell-side advisor to Šerif Group, one of Croatia’s leading wood processing companies, in the carve-out and sale of Šerif Energetika to Ancala, a prominent independent infrastructure manager.

As part of the transaction, Šerif Group separated its energy division, Šerif Energetika, which comprises three biomass cogeneration plants located in Glina, Karlovac and Brinje, with a combined installed capacity of 14.6 MWe. Each facility operates under a long-term PPA with HROTE, expiring in September 2031 (Glina), September 2034 (BE-TO Karlovac) and July 2035 (BE-TO Brinje).

Beyond the power plants, Šerif Energetika also includes adjacent operations such as wood drying facilities, a sawmill, a briquette production plant and a wood steaming facility, all of which utilize the thermal energy produced on-site.

This transaction represents Šerif Group’s exit from the renewable energy sector, allowing the company to refocus on its core activities. For Ancala, the acquisition adds a fifth biomass CHP plant to its Central and Eastern European Renewables Platform, increasing its total installed capacity to 24.6 MWe.
