GEFERTEC GmbH was founded in 2015 by Georg Fischer and Tobias Röhrich together with B.I.G. (Berlin.Industrial.Group). GEFERTEC develops new methods for the production of metallic parts that extend beyond the limits of conventional production processes, thereby offering unique possibilities to designers, engineers and companies. GEFERTEC is the first and only company worldwide that provides the market with the revolutionary 3DMP® technology that is based on modern arc welding in the form of ready-to-use production machinery.
Deal Summary
The still young GEFERTEC GmbH is a pioneer in the field of metal 3D printing and since its foundation in 2015 it has developed a particularly effective 3D printing process under the name 3DMP® (3D Metal Print). In order to market this process worldwide and tap new markets for these printing systems, EMAG GmbH & Co. KG could be won as a strategic investor and cooperation partner.
EMAG acquired a minority stake in GEFERTEC and provides the financial and organizational resources for further international growth within the framework of an intensive cooperation. The common goal of the two companies is the worldwide commercialization of the 3DMP® process. In addition, the development of new 3DMP® machines and applications is at the center of the strategic partnership.
With its new strong partner EMAG, GEFERTEC can concentrate on its competencies in the development of 3D printing systems and, together with EMAG, push ahead with internationalization.
