PyroTex was founded in 2013 by Robert M.P. Jarausch. The company developed an inherently flame and heat resistant fibre which is marketed under the brand PyroTex®. The company is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany and operates a manufacturing facility near Valencia, Spain.
PyroTex® is a highly advanced engineered acrylic fibre with ground-breaking product capabilities, especially permanent flame and heat resistance. The fibre conforms to the highest quality requirements,
including FDA-approval. Its product applications include personal protective clothing, hot gas filtration, public transportation, furniture and home textiles, as well as vast technical applications such as building
and vehicle isolation.
Thai Acrylic Fibre Co. Ltd. (TAF), acquired all business activities and related assets of PyroTex. The founder of PyroTex, Mr. Robert Jarausch, will join the Aditya Birla Group as managing director of the newly-formed PyroTex Industries GmbH and will be responsible for the global expansion of TAF’s flame retardant (FR) fibres business.
While PyroTex has already achieved notable success in the market with its ground-breaking product that offers unique technical capabilities, the new partnership will enable the company to leverage TAF’s global sales network as well as the vast production capacity of one of the largest global acrylic fibre manufacturers. So far, PyroTex sales activities were limited to Europe and North America, but as part of the Aditya Birla Group, it will be able to accelerate its growth on a global scale in the coming years.
The acquisition of PyroTex is a very good strategic fit for TAF, as it provides the opportunity for TAF to enter the high-performance FR segment with a product having the best performance characteristics
in this field. The acquisition is in line with TAF’s objective to continuously enhance its capabilities to produce and market value-added products.
