Sigma Kreas, S.A. is a Spanish group based in Lumbier, Navarre, which activity focuses in the pork meat business. It integrates companies dedicated to the production of pork meat, logistics of livestock, ingredients and cereal, as well as I+D projects oriented towards improving the quality of its meat products.
Grupo Mazana has acquired a majority stake in Sigma Kreas following a capital increase and share purchase, a corporate transaction that marks a turning point for the Navarre-based holding company. The alliance combines Grupo Mazana’s livestock structure and industrial scale—currently exceeding 100,000 sows—with Sigma Kreas’s capacity for integration, innovation, and operational development. Thanks to this complementarity, the transaction strengthens the project’s stability and accelerates the group’s growth strategy. In this way, Sigma Kreas secures the necessary production volume to operate its cutting plant more efficiently, while also consolidating a solid foundation for its long-term growth.
In this new scenario, the shareholder structure maintains Pedro Tarrafeta’s leadership of the meat project, ensuring strategic coherence and robust execution. In parallel, the Mazana family will assume management of the processes related to livestock farming, contributing to a shareholders structure that strengthens joint governance and improves coordination among key areas of the group.
Following this enhanced integration, both companies are moving forward with a shared roadmap that prioritizes rural development, the creation of stable employment, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and production efficiency. In this regard, planned investments include new livestock facilities, improvements in biosecurity, photovoltaic expansions, and the modernization of feed mills and logistics systems. These initiatives consolidate an increasingly integrated and future-oriented production model.
