Advised by Proventis Partners, F. Hunziker + Co AG, was sold to Amapharm GmbH as part of a succession plan. Amapharm GmbH knows F. Hunziker + Co AG from its many years of co-operation and will work together with the management of F. Hunziker + Co AG to ensure a smooth integration into the Amapharm GmbH Group.
Hunziker, headquartered in Dietikon (Switzerland), is a traditional family business specializing in the production of food products such as gummy bears and candies, some of which also contain medicinal components. The company employs around 160 people and is successfully managed as an independent family holding company by the third generation of the family owners. As one of the largest functional sweet manufacturers in Switzerland, the fami-ly business has been producing tasty experiences for over 90 years.
Founded in 1977 and based in Neunkirchen (Germany), Amapharm is the world market leader in the distribution of fruit gummies with vitamins. As a contract manufacturer, the company has been exporting nutritional supplements to over 90 countries worldwide for more than 40 years, specializing in formulations tailored to the needs and tastes of children age four and over, as well as adults. Amapharm’s vitamin fruit gummies can contain a wide range of vitamins in various compositions, blend with both vegetable and animal gelatin, cater to a variety of tastes with numerous colors and flavors and come in a wide variety of shapes, with either a sugar or smooth coating.
In recent years, F. Hunziker + Co AG has developed from a traditional supplier of sweets for the largest Swiss retailers into a specialized global supplier of functional confectionery products such as nutritional supplements and medical nutraceuticals. Due to the increasing demand for nutri-tional supplements and health-promoting products, Amapharm GmbH has decided to take over the long-standing strategic partner as of January 2024.
