MECOMO is the leading provider of integrated software and hardware solutions for tracking and tracing of non-powered logistics objects in German-speaking countries. Since 2008, the company, which was founded in 2000 and is based in Unterschleissheim, has been developing and selling telematics solutions and is the founder of solar telematics. With the solar-powered mobile gateways of the mecSOLAR series, MECOMO offers reliable hardware with lifetimes of up to 15 years that are unmatched by the competition to over 100 well-known customers from the logistics and retail sectors. The core of the integrated telematics solution is the intelligent mecFLEET platform, which provides users with actionable insights into their logistics processes.
Today, MECOMO AG employs over 50 people at its two locations in Unterschleissheim, Germany and Porto Alegre, Brazil.
The shareholders of MECOMO AG have sold 100% of the shares to the Giesecke+Devrient Group to enable the company’s further growth in the context of a larger strategic alliance. Giesecke+Devrient, a Munich-based global security technology group, is expanding its product and service portfolio in the IoT market with the acquisition.
