Proventis Partners acted as exclusive M&A advisor to the shareholders of anemos Gesellschaft für Umweltmeteorologie mbH – one of Germany’s leading providers of independent meteorological services with a focus on the wind energy sector – in the sale of their shares to Vidia Equity, which specializes in investing in companies that make a measurable contribution to decarbonization.
anemos, based in Reppenstedt, Germany, is one of Germany’s leading meteorological service providers for the wind energy sector. It was founded in 1990 and is now one of the leading independent providers of meteorological services for renewable energy, particularly onshore wind energy. Services include site assessment, due diligence, wind measurements, the company’s proprietary wind atlas and other economic analyses and evaluations.
The long-standing management team, consisting of Lasse Blanke, André Glücksmann, and Martin Schneider, will continue to lead anemos independently and drive its growth in the future. Founder Dr. Heinz-Theo Mengelkamp will now serve in an advisory capacity.
Together, anemos and Vidia aim to expand the business, with a focus on digitalization, investments in capacity growth, and the expansion of the service offering for existing and new customers.
Following GEO-NET, anemos is the second energy and climate consulting specialist in the Vidia portfolio. Both companies will continue to be managed completely independently by their respective management teams and will retain their own brands, client relationships, and operational autonomy.
