BOETTGER GROUP has sold BG LABS, an EU GMP-certified producer of medical grade cannabis in Colombia, to an American investor.
BOETTGER GROUP is a mid-sized group of companies active across the German and European markets, with business operations spanning sugar, nuts and dried fruits, confectionery and real estate.
Founded in 2017, BG Labs specializes in the cultivation and post-harvest processing of medical-grade cannabis products. The company operates under rigorous regulatory standards to ensure compliance with both local and international quality and safety requirements.
BG Labs is a fully licensed producer and has obtained a GAP certification (ICA), two GACP certifications (SGS), and EU GMP certification issued by a German competent authority. Its facilities are located in Sotaquirá, Boyacá, Colombia — a region well suited for agriculture, benefiting from consistent year-round sunlight of approximately 12 hours per day.
Having successfully reached this stage of development, BG Labs is now entering its next growth phase, which will require additional strategic and structural advancement. BOETTGER GROUP has therefore decided not to pursue further expansion of the business within the group and is seeking a new owner to guide BG Labs through its next chapter of development.
