Maite.ai is a Spanish startup which offers its services to more than 2,000 clients, including lawyers, large law firms, corporate departments, and public administrations
Doctrine, one of Europe’s leading companies in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) for the legal sector, has completed the acquisition of Maite.ai, one of the largest Spanish startups in the sector, which is experiencing strong growth. The French company stated that this is its fifth acquisition in three years and marks its entry into Spain. With this acquisition, Doctrine has increased its number of clients to 27,000 across France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Luxembourg. Doctrine adds that this acquisition further illustrates its strength, which lies in building a European leader grounded in the legal specificities of each country.
Founded in 2024, Maite.ai has established itself as one of the leading legal AI companies in Spain. In 2025, the Spanish firm increased its ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) twentyfold and now serves more than 2,000 clients, including independent lawyers, large law firms, corporate legal departments, and public administrations.
“By integrating Maite.ai, we are consolidating our position as a European leader in legal AI. In a rapidly evolving global AI market, our ambition has always been to build a reliable European leader based on technological sovereignty. We are delighted to welcome the Maite.ai teams to Doctrine. 2025 was our strongest year ever in terms of growth, and this acquisition further accelerates our trajectory,” says Guillaume Carrère, CEO of Doctrine.
Maite.ai will retain its brand, its headquarters in Spain, and its entire current team. The founders of Maite.ai will continue to lead the Spanish market, with plans to make numerous new hires to maintain momentum.
“The platform will benefit from significant synergies driven by Doctrine’s ten years of experience in artificial intelligence. This expansion will ultimately allow Doctrine to address the needs of more than one million lawyers and legal professionals in its markets, opening up significant growth opportunities across Europe,” says Alejandro Castellano, CEO of Maite.ai.
