Ethica Group, through its M&A Advisory team, advised NAMED Group, one of the leading European players in the consumer health sector, on the sale of New Penta, a longstanding leading brand in specialized nutrition, to PromoPharma, a leader in the production and marketing of food supplements, dietary foods, medical devices, and injectable products for aesthetic and orthopedic applications, and part of the Aurora Growth Capital portfolio.
New Penta, headquartered in Castelletto Stura (CN), has been part of NAMED Group since 2022 and specializes in developing personalized VLCKD (Very Low-Calorie Ketogenic Diet) nutritional programs, designed both for weight management and for individuals with food intolerances or specific nutritional needs. The company currently generates approximately €15 million in revenue.
With the addition of New Penta, PromoPharma will benefit from an expanded offering in the nutrition and wellness space, new cross-selling opportunities, and a greater ability to cover the entire customer journey, from weight loss through to weight maintenance. In addition, the integration of New Penta’s sales network and know-how will generate operational synergies and further strengthen the Group’s competitive positioning in its target market.
Filippo Borsani, CEO of PromoPharma, stated: “The addition of New Penta to the PromoPharma Group represents much more than an acquisition: it is an acceleration of our growth strategy in specialized medical nutrition. We are bringing together two businesses with highly complementary expertise to create Italy’s leading platform dedicated to clinical and functional nutrition. The integration of our sales networks, scientific know-how, and innovation capabilities will enable us to develop new, high-value-added solutions for physicians and patients, further strengthening our leadership position. Our goal is to exceed €25 million in revenue from specialized nutrition by 2027 and to bring PromoPharma Group’s total revenue to approximately €50 million, while continuing to invest in research, innovation, and further acquisitions.”
