EthicA Group M&A Advisory team assisted Bracchi, european leader in logistics and transport, in the acquisition of the majority of Mateco

Ethica Group, with its M&A Advisory team, assisted Bracchi, a European player in the logistics and transport sector, and part of Argos Wityu portfolio, in completing the acquisition of the majority of Mateco, an Italian company specialized in special and heavy transport.

Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Milan, Mateco has grown from a simple local transport company to a key player in the special and heavy transport segment. Well-known for its advanced engineering know-how and ability to manage complex loads, Mateco offers tailor-made transport solutions in various sectors, with a particular focus on electromechanics. This acquisition further diversifies Bracchi’s end markets, also expanding its service offering and skills, particularly in the heavy-duty sector and in engineering capabilities, while accelerating its presence in the rapidly growing electromechanical sector. The entry into Bracchi is aimed at creating a group that will position itself as the Italian leader in heavy transport.

Umberto Ferretti, CEO of Bracchi, said: “From the first conversation with Matteo Rossi and Patrizio Branchesi it was clear that we share the same goal: Maximizing customer productivity, while maintaining impeccable safety standards. I have rarely seen such dedication and commitment and I personally look forward to working alongside Matteo, Patrizio and their team”.

Matteo Rossi and Patrizio Branchesi, co-CEOs of Mateco, added: “The spirit of Mateco is perfectly aligned with Bracchi’s strategic plan to grow in the heavy transport sector. It is another great step towards becoming a European reference in this exciting market”.

Sandra Lagumina, Senior Partner at Argos Wityu, said: “We are proud to support the dynamic team at Bracchi. This acquisition fits perfectly into one pillar of our investment thesis, which is the acquisition of new technical know-how in other special logistics niches”.

Lucio Ranaudo, Senior Partner at Argos Wityu, said: “Joining forces with Mateco is an important milestone in Bracchi’s growth strategy and will enable it to offer a rich and varied range of offerings. We will therefore continue to ensure our contribution of know-how gained on a European scale for the sustainable and lasting growth of Bracchi”.
