NORGESTION (Spain) advised the sale of Martinez Otero to private equity firm Portobello Capital

Martínez Otero, the Spanish company known for fitting out Inditex stores (Zara) around the world, as well as hotels operated by major groups such as Hilton, Fairmont, Marriott, Conrad Hotels & Resorts and The Ritz-Carlton, has completed the acquisition of Grupo Bermudez & Solutions in a deal that coincided with Portobello Capital’s acquisition of a majority stake in the company.

The Galician furniture maker has taken a decisive step forward in its growth strategy with the integration of Grupo Bermúdez&Solutions, a company specializing in technology-driven furniture for commercial establishments.

“This transaction expands our value proposition and gives rise to a more comprehensive and differentiated offering for both existing and future clients,” Martínez Otero said. The combination of the two businesses creates a group with pro forma revenue of approximately €150 million and EBITDA of between €15 million and €16 million.

The deal brings together Martínez Otero’s industrial and international capabilities—with production operations spanning Spain, Morocco and the Dominican Republic—with Grupo Bermúdez Solutions’ expertise in bespoke furniture manufacturing and the end-to-end execution of bespoke projects for the hospitality, retail, residential and premium marine sectors.

The integration strengthens the group’s ability to offer higher value-added solutions, expand its international reach and respond more swiftly to increasingly complex projects, thanks to the complementary nature of its industrial, technological and commercial capabilities.

To drive this new phase of growth, the group has the backing of Portobello Capital as an investment partner.
